Since the beginning of Russia’s attack on Ukraine on February 24th, 2022, millions of people fleeing the war crossed the Polish border. Poland was the country taking the largest number of Ukrainian refugees, of which the vast majority were women and children. The exodus amounts to one of the largest refugee waves in Europe since World War II.
